The Office of Evangelization and Catechesis provides leadership and support for Catholic parish and school catechetical leaders within the Diocese of Honolulu on our shared mission to evangelize and catechize.

Catechetical Sunday - September 21, 2025

 

The 2025 theme encourages us to be prepared to share the basis of our faith, the Lord, and the hope he provides. In the same manner Saint Peter encouraged the believers of his time, the Scripture reminds us, the sharing should be done with gentleness and respect.

CATECHIST FORMATION: DIOCESAN LAY ECCLESSIAL MINISTRY FORMATION AND CERTIFICATION Forming catechists in faith for their evangelizing mission is an essential duty for us as leaders. We are pleased to introduce the Franciscan University Catechetical Institute, our new resource for catechist formation and certification. And --- access to this resource will be free of charge to you and your catechists! OVER 1000 LEARNERS HAVE BEGUN THEIR CATECHIST FORMATION ON "FRANCISCAN AT HOME"! Need to get your catechists on board?  Start with the OVERVIEW and INTRODUCTORY VIDEOS. Contact Lisa if you'd like to get started!

ONE 'OHANA SACRAMENT DVD PACKETS AVAILABLE DVD packets for Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist are free until we run out. Supplies of these packets are limited.
