Bishop Larry Silva will rise with the roosters on the nine days before Christmas to celebrate the Misa de Gallo on Oahu and Maui this year. The bishop in recent years has included in his schedule this novena of dawn liturgies, a popular Filipino tradition whose name translates as “Mass of the Rooster,” in reference to the early hour it is celebrated.
