This office offers a wide range of resources to support all aspects of stewardship in the local church. Links to resources above are coming soon.   We provide general support, training and development of primary parish resources that are responsive to parish needs and not covered by other diocesan offices of Road Map task forces.

Pastoral and Finance Councils

• Development of new councils using updated guidelines for both pastoral and finance councils
• Ongoing training or updating for existing councils including pastoral planning, gathering data from parishioners, setting goals, evaluating progress, and establishing good working relationships with parish staff and parish ministries
• Orientation for nominees to aid them in discerning their call to pastoral council or finance council ministry
• Orientation for new members to help them understand their role as members of the pastoral or finance council
• Retreats and workshops

Gifts Discernment

Training for parish teams to facilitate discernment of gifts for parishioners using a process developed by Bro. Loughlan Sofield and Sr. Carroll Juliano.

Foundation Skills for Ministry

• Training in group facilitation skills, running effective meetings, dealing with conflict
• Training and ongoing support for parish teams to facilitate the Welcoming Returning Catholics Home program.

Leadership Development

When the Leadership Task Force has determined the resources to be offered to parishes for leadership development in line with the first priority of the diocesan strategic plan, (The Road Map), to provide a link between these resources and the parishes.

• Response to requests for information on the diocesan 411 info service
• Provide links to training and various resources in other diocesan departments or other dioceses.

General Parish Report

• Develop a new instrument to provide a comprehensive picture of each parish in line with the priorities of the diocesan strategic plan.
• Provide parishes with sample census/registration forms.
