May God bless us always
Elizabeth Shippen

Elizabeth has been with Resurrection of the Lord since 1993. She is employed by the state. “I wish I had the luxury of working full-time for the Lord” she said. She is an active member of the parish pastoral council, catechist for the 6th grade, a choir member, and also an Eucharistic Minister.

Elizabeth writes “My son Ian will be confirmed on May 21st. I am so excited for him. I am very grateful to all those who have contributed toward his spiritual growth, whether through their prayers, talks, or by their example. I am committed to working with our youth, and would very much like to work even more closely with the confirmation classes. I am very concerned about losing our young parishioners after they are confirmed.

I would like to expand on Fr. Ronald Burke’s great effort to fully involve our youth in every aspect of the mass and church ministries. There is much to be done. I am so thankful to God for everything, including for Fr. Burke as our pastor. He has been such an inspiration for me. He is a great communicator, he does his ministry very well as the pastor and as my spiritual guide.”

As a Social Ministry Coordinator Liz has great vision. She plans to organize a “care fair day” where the parish would invite community leaders to speak on different community needs, potential community projects including Prison Ministry, and the Institute for Human Services (IHS) etc.

“I would like to say that I am in and of service in God’s name , and continuously seeking to increase ‘club’ membership.”

Welcome aboard Elizabeth!
