Agape Ecumenical Ministries

About a year ago, an informal group of folks from Churches in the McCully, Makiki, Moiliili, Ala Moana neighborhoods gathered to discuss ministry to the hungry and homeless who are our neighbors.

The mission of Agape Ministries is to come together and create an environment where the entire community learns to love and care for each other, fostering spiritual growth and nurturing.

The goal is to utilize our unique resources to meet with greater effectiveness, the needs of our hungry, homeless and hurting neighbors.

The participants of this group are Central union Church, Church of the Cross Roads, Olivet Baptist Church, Sacred Heart Parish-Punahou, St. Pius the X Parish– Manoa, Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Ala Moana, Hawaii Food Bank, and Oahu Social Ministry.

On May 13th we had a picnic at Ala Moana park to celebrate our community with about 60 homeless people and a number of our church members , ministers, and our pastors. It was a fun picnic where were the guests at their home.

A big Mahalo and congratulations to George Harris of Central Union Church for his hard work in coordinating the picnic.
