eNews for the week of August 31, 2010

Attached is this week’s eNews.

Also attached is a flyer/bulletin insert on Catholic Charities Sunday, which is coming to parishes on various dates throughout September and October. The insert will be published in the Hawaii Catholic Herald highlighting some of CCH’s partnerships and programs. Mahalo for your support! Please help support this special collection that benefits people in need in Hawaii’s communities.

As reported in the eNews, Fr. Felix Vandebroek, SS.CC., passed away on Friday. Some news/blogs have been covering the news and even sharing some fond memories. See, for example:

eNews for the week of April 20, 2010.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops updated the “For Your Marriage” website last week. Check it out at http://foryourmarriage.org/. There’s information on dating, parenting, communications and many other topics of interest.

Sometimes people ask for Vatican photos. Check out their official photo service website at https://www.photo.va/?f=1.

Attached is this week’s eNews and the flyer for the 2010 International Bioethics Conference sponsored by The St. Francis International Center for Healthcare Ethics. The topic is especially timely, “The New Healthcare: Ethics and Economics.”

I should have flagged this sooner but the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue sent out a message on May 18th to our Buddhist brothers and sisters on the occasion of their celebration of the Feast of Vesakh/Hanamatsuri. The message can be found at http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/pontifical_councils/interelg/documents/rc_pc_interelg_doc_20100517_vesakh-2010_en.html. This year’s theme for the message is: Christians and Buddhists Respect Human Life As the Basis of Respect for All Beings.
