Historical Background: Incorporation
Officially, the F.I.A.T. Association was incorporated as a non-profit association on July 16 1985. It encourages the spread of cells of evangelization gathered around the FIAT Rosary. The groups meet regularly to share how "in word and in deed to live as faithful witnesses of Christ and to the love of His Divine heart." It also promotes the FIAT Spirituality through week-end workshops or retreats of the type Cenacle. The third goal is to print, translate and disseminate Cardinal Suenens' writings which provide a formation in pastoral theology and in spirituality.
The F.I.A.T. Association is now established around the world. At Cardinal Suenens' request, in the late eighties, it was introduced in North America by Fr. John T. Catoir and the Christophers with the permission of the Most Rev. Frank J. Rodimer of Paterson N.J. (1, p. 134-5.)
