Year of the Family

The year 2009 has been designated as the Year of the Family Celebration by Governor Linda Lingle and the Hawaii State Legislature through the passage of House Concurrent Resolution 269.

The commissioners have been appointed by Governor Lingle and the Family Celebration Commission is excited to help promote the 2009 Year of the Family Celebration and the Values of Aloha in our various Ohana (families).

Please help the family commission promote the year and let them know about your family events and how they might assist you!

They ask that, when appropriate, we integrate the value of aloha in our work with families and communities (e.g. newsletters, topic of group discussions, etc.)  They want us to share the values of aloha with our own personal families, extended families, friends, and communities we are affiliated with (churchy, sport teams, businesses you patronize, etc.)
