Msgr. Roy Peters: Rest in Peace
Msgr. Roy Peters died on July 2nd 2006 after a long illness. Hawaii funeral services will be held on July 14, 2006 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Honolulu.

Visitation will be from 4-7pm and Mass will be at 7pm. His remains will then be sent to California for interrment. Condolences may be sent to his sisters:

Peters was born on August 30th 1924 and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Sacramento, California on June 12th 1948. He spent 11 years as pastor and parochial vicar in Sacramento, until permitted to enter active duty with the United States Army Chaplaincy in 1961. He served with distinction in Vietnam and in other assignments, including over 7 years at Schofield Barracks and Tripler Army Medical Center. Upon his retirement from the military in 1986, he returned to Sacramento where he served as a pastor until November 1990. At that time, he came to Honolulu and has served since then at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Honolulu. He was also Chaplain to the Chinese Catholic Club and Spiritual Director to the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
We thank God for Msgr. Peters’ 58 years of service as a priest. Let us join together in praying for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family and friends.
